Skid Steer (Bobcat) Loader Course.

• Training is done to Workcover standards.

• This program provides the theoretical knowledge and the practical skills to become a Workcover Certified Skid Steer Loader Operator.

• A Accredited Workcover Assessor conducts all training and assessing.

• Courses are kept to a maximum of 4 (FOUR) students so that each student gets the individual attention required.

• All equipment is kept at a high standard and is company owned.

• Students will be JOB READY after successful completion with a 60 day Interim Licence.

Course Outline

Duration:                     2.5 X 8 Hour Day for Theory and Practical

                                    Training.

                                    1 X 4 - 8 Hour Day for Assessment.

When:                          On Application.

Time:                           0745 Hours 97.45am) to 2000 Hours (8pm).

Age:                             18 Years or Older.

Cost:                            $760.00 for Training and Assessment.

Workcover Licence:     $65.00#

Course Structure:        1.  OH&S requirements for Skid Steer loader

                                         Operation.

                                    2.  Introduction to Skid Steer Loaders.

                                    3.  Load rating, plate / safety decals.

                                    4.  ROPS & FOPS Rollover & Falling object

                                         protection guards.

                                    5.  inspection of machine and worksite.

                                    6.  Plan work, hazard identification, permits &

                                         risk assessment.

                                    7.  Familiarisation of controls & instruments.

                                    8.  Manoeuvring.

                                    9.  Pick up load (crowd the bucket).

                                    10. Travel with load.

                                    11. Dump the load.

                                    12. Excavate.

                                    13. Back fill trench and level ground.

                                    14. Operate 4 in 1 bucket including "clam shell"

                                          pickup.

                                    15. Attachment release & securing mechanisms.

                                    16. Post operation and inspections.

                                    17. Shut down machine and secure site.

• Upon completion of the course, providing the applicant passes both theory and practical assessments, we then issue a 60 day licence.

• The student then MUST take their paper work to Workcover and pay the $65.00# Licence Fee and Workcover will post out the licence.
