Vehicle Loading Crane (HIAB) Course.

• This training program provides participants with the basic knowledge and practical Vehicle Loading Crane (HIAB) experience in order to gain the National Licence required by the Workcover Authority.

• We will customise this program to be delivered partly on site in the workplace and some off site at our location.

Vehicle Loading Crane Training and Certificate of Achievement.

This course is recommended for those who require both theoretical and practical instruction to obtain their licence.

Course Duration:                3 X 8 Hour Days for Training.

                                          1 X 8 Hour Day for Assessment. 

                                          Maximum 5 Participants. 

Where:                               Alltrans Training Services, 12 Motto Lane,

                                          Heatherbrae. 

Time:                                 0800 Hours (8am) to 1700 Hours (5pm).

Age:                                   18 years or older.

      1. How to estimate the mass of loads.

      2. Calculate safe working loads for lifting.

      3. Appliances.

      4. Placing loads or objects into place. 

Section 1:       1. Inspection of Machine and Worksite / Site Hazards.

                       2. Cranes.

                       3. Lifting Gear.

                       4. Slinging of moving of loads. 

Section 2:        Dogging Calculus.

Section 3:        Rope Formulas.

Section 4:        Splices.

Dogging Theory and Practical Test

Section5 & 6:  1. Demonstrate load movement and placement of the

                           load.

                       2.  Hand and Whistle Signals.

                       3. Plan work and prepare work.

                       4. Demonstrates correct slinging technique.

                       5. Completes bends and hitches.
