Multi Combination Competency Based Assessment.

MC Information:

• Multi Combination Licence is required to drive any B Double or Road Train.

• 3 Axel Prime Mover.

• Towing a triaxle A Trailer, and a  38 foot McGrath Bogie Trailer.

• Our Prime Mover is a Freightliner, Series 60 Detroit Diesel, 425 HP with a 18 speed road ranger gear box.

• Heavy Vehicle drivers seeking to obtain a licence to allow them to operate a B Double are required to undertake a compulsory training and assessment course approved by the RTA and conducted by a training provider that is accredited by the RTA.

• ACCREDITED HEAVY VEHICLE DRIVING INSTRUCTOR NO. 008766        

• RTA ACCREDITED HEAVY VEHICLE DRIVING ASSESSOR NO. 008766

• All training is done to flexible times to suit the individual clients requirements.

• Progress is discussed with each client at the end of each lesson.

• Training is tailored to suit the needs of each individual client.

• The amount of time varies for each trainee according to each individuals needs.  So the quote for driver training is an ESTIMATE only.  Some students may require more or less time to complete training.

Training / Course Prerequisites:

• Provide a current photo licence or satisfactory proof of identity (POI) to meet RTA Requirements.

• Complete a licence application form for the National Heavy Vehicle Drivers Licensing Scheme.

• Provide a completed Medical Report.

• You must have held a Class HC or HR license for a period of not less than 1 years.

• Pass an MC Knowledge test.

• Study the  Heavy Vehicle and Road Rules Handbook ($10.00 each#) from your local RTA, or online by clicking going to our links section.

• RTA Driving History Print out ($20.00#)

• Pass an eye sight test.

• On completion of these requirements your licence application form will be returned to you for presentation to Alltrans Training Services, it will be stamped and endorsed by the RTA "Approved to attend multi combination driver training and assessment course".

• 48 (forty eight) hours notice must be given by the training provider to the RTA of intention to provide multi combination training and assessment to any applicant.

On completion with Alltrans Training Services, return to your local RTA with a certificate of competency from Alltrans Training Services for the MC Training and Assessment.  Provide them your current drivers licence or POI that meets the RTA requirements and complete the licence process.

Length of training: The length of training and assessment for MC Licence depends on the licence you hold prior to upgrading.
